Automated picture inventory of your cameras in Genetec Security Center


    In physical security environments where video infrastructures are extensive, manually performing a picture inventory of hundreds of cameras — including their PTZ presets — is a long, tedious and error-prone task. To address this need, ADDONXPERT has developed the PICTURE INVENTORY REPORT plugin for Genetec Security Center, enabling the full automation of the capture, organization and export of snapshots directly from Security Desk. This plugin integrates seamlessly into the Genetec platform and automatically generates an export of individual photos as well as a consolidated PDF report, in a single click.

    • Automatic snapshot capture: Automatically take one photo per fixed camera and one photo per PTZ preset, without any manual intervention.

    • Configuration via reusable templates: Define and save inventory templates by scope (site, area, sector) with a customizable preset filter.

    • Camera and area targeting: Select individual cameras or entire Genetec areas — all cameras in the area are automatically handled.

    • JPEG photo export: Each captured photo is saved as an individual JPEG file in the directory of your choice.

    • Automatic PDF report generation: A consolidated PDF (maximum 50 photos per file) is automatically generated alongside the photos. For inventories of more than 50 photos, several numbered PDFs are created.

    • Real-time progress tracking: A processing window displays the progress camera by camera, with the status of each capture.

    • Error traceability: All cameras that were not exported are listed at the end of the last PDF for easier follow-up.

    • Native task in Security Desk: The plugin is accessible directly from the unified Genetec Security Desk interface, with no external tool required.
